Learning Through Work | Week 2

This week felt more settled and comfortable. After understanding the structure and workflow in the first week, I found myself becoming more involved in both the work and the people around me.

Most of my work this week focused on designing posters and wobblers, which helped me realise how important even small design elements are in communication. Working on these formats reinforced the importance of accuracy and consistency. Fonts, spacing, colours, and alignment need to stay true to the brand, especially when visuals are adapted across multiple formats.

One key learning this week was thinking beyond a single format. A design is rarely created for just one placement it needs to work across different touch points. This made me understand how crucial posters and product visuals are, especially during a brand or product launch. At that stage, design plays a key role in introducing the product to people and building familiarity. As the brand becomes more recognizable, communication can become more minimal, but clarity and visibility are essential in the beginning.

Working closely with the team was another highlight. Even though I’m the youngest in the group, everyone has been extremely helpful and open. I learned a lot by observing how ideas are shared, discussed, and refined, which showed me how collaboration strengthens design outcomes.

Lunch breaks became a small pause in the day, with conversations ranging from elections to life and work. These moments helped me get to know people beyond their roles and made the workplace feel more comfortable and welcoming.

I also learned more about product design, particularly how fonts are chosen and used consistently across communication. Seeing these decisions in practice helped me understand the reasoning behind design choices, not just their visual appeal.

While deadlines guide the pace of work, this week showed me that learning continues even under pressure. Balancing speed with accuracy, and creativity with consistency, was an important takeaway.

Overall, this week felt engaging and confidence-building a steady mix of learning, teamwork, and adapting to a structured design environment.

This Week’s Key Takeaway

Designing across formats teaches accuracy, consistency, and speed. Strong communication is essential during brand and product launches, while collaboration and clarity make design more effective as brands grow.
